AMBASSADOR OF ANGOLA TO JAPAN VISITS THE HONORARY CONSULATE OF ANGOLA IN NAGOYA

On November 15th of this year, Her Excellency Teodolinda Rosa Rodrigues Coelho, Ambassador of the Republic of Angola to Japan, traveled to the city of Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, where she held a working meeting and prospecting session with His Excellency Dr. Ichiro KASHITANI, President of Toyota Tsusho and Honorary Consul of Angola in the region.

This visit is part of the follow-up to the action plan and program of this Diplomatic Mission, and seeks to establish partnerships and contacts in order to create conditions for the implementation of economic diplomacy.

As part of the same visit, the Angolan diplomat visited the Toyota Museum in Nagoya to learn about the history of the Toyota automobile brand. There, she learned about the origins of the brand, its history as a textile company, and its evolution into a manufacturer of machines and later automobile engines.

Afterwards, she visited the facilities of the Honorary Consulate of Angola in Nagoya and held a working meeting with the Honorable Consul. During the meeting, they discussed important issues related to the partnership and rapprochement between Angolan and Japanese entrepreneurs, as well as the follow-up on the recommendations of the business forum held in March 2023, on the occasion of the State Visit of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Angola to Japan.

The identification of new business areas in Angola, with a special focus on the mining sector, was also discussed at a working lunch between Her Excellency the Ambassador and the President of Toyota Tsusho, held at the company’s Guest House in Nagoya.

As part of the same trip, Her Excellency the Ambassador also visited Nagoya Castle, where she learned about the history of the castle.
